i'm ecstatic the video is finally out!
Battle of the minds
cries Below cries Above
You must pick a side
Will you choose fear?
Will you choose love?
What does it look like,
this orbital ball from the fringes of The Milky Way?
What does it feel like,
this orbital ball on the fringes of The Milky Way?
Raining flavor
Icing flavor
flavor love
Whose God then is God?
They all want jurisdiction
In the Book of Earth
whose God spread fear?
Spread love?
And what does it look like,
this orbital ball from the fringes of The Milky Way?
What does it feel like,
this orbital ball from the fringes of The Milky Way?
Raining Flavor
Icing Flavor
flavor love
Turn up the frequency
What does it look like,
this orbital ball from the fringes of The Milky Way?
What does it feel like,
this orbital ball from the fringes of The Milky Way?
Raining flavor
Icing flavor
Spread that flavor
flavor flavor

Filipino Time
i hate waiting. i know it's a seemingly simple act but i do find it excruciating. i am generally patient with life but i simply hate it when i have to wait for something or someone.
i remember a long time back when we had a staff meeting but we could not start yet since one of the staff has not arrived. we all sat uneasily inside my boss' office, sat in silence and waited. then my office mate came in panting and apologetic but my boss seethed and said, "you don't do that again! have you no respect for other peoples' time?"
that just struck me. and i would remember it each time i have to wait up for someone.
respect for someone else's time... in meetings with friends or even for business meetings, we don't really have an exact time schedule right? we don't say 8pm instead it's dinner time or 8ish or between 8-9. and yet some people would arrive at 10pm, lol!
did you know that a year ago, Pres. Arroyo actually came out with an order that says November should be the National Consciousness Month for Punctuality and Civility? yes, there is such an order. maybe it's really about time we try to be punctual and not have to make people wait up for us unless we give advance notices. what's the use of mobile phones anyway.
i don't know why it has be on November. must be because the days are extra colder and it becomes such added effort to get up earlier? or maybe because DST in other parts of the world starts to take effect. whatever.
i am a bit guilty of being late too especially during mornings which is exactly why i don't like making appointments in the wee hours when my senses are still asleep. otherwise we have alarm clocks to SuperPoke us silly just for us to get up, don't we?
anyway, here's something from Lourd De Veyra which i caught on the news weeks ago. by the way, i am also currently hooked on ABC 5's TEN, i find their news bits more interesting and their discussions and commentaries more engaging. ;)

realization
i've been to so many places here in the country, even the remotest ones as well.
and i've come to realize that wow, the most barbaric women we have are not found on the country side but here in our urban jungle.
precisely on the MRT. on a rush hour.
wow, i've never felt so mobbed.
greatly reminds me of this video from a Japanese show.
oh while at it, you might want to see this as well.
how i pity those who have to brave this situation each and every day of their God-forsaken lives. My gravest sympathy.

make it last...
Speak to me in a language I can hear
humour me before I have to go
Deep in thought I forgive everyone
As the cluttered streets greet me once again
I know I cant be late, suppers waiting on the table
Tomorrows just an excuse away
So I pull my collar up and face the cold, on my own
The earth laughs beneath my heavy feet
At the blasphemy in my old jangly walk
Steeple guide me to my heart and home
The sun is out and up and down again
I know Ill make it, love can last forever
Graceful swans of never topple to the earth
And you can make it last, forever you
You can make it last, forever you
And for a moment I lose myself
Wrapped up in the pleasures of the world
Ive journeyed here and there and back again
But in the same old haunts I still find my friends
Mysteries not ready to reveal
Sympathies Im ready to return
Ill make the effort, love can last forever
Graceful swans of never topple to the earth
Tomorrows just an excuse
And you can make it last, forever you
You can make it last, forever you

AI Update: The Guys Outsang the Girls on Mariah Week!
i'm no big fan of mariah thus i imagine the girls belting and screaming out this week. surprise of all surprises though, t'was the guys who actually did well. archuleta was good but cook and castro were my favorites most especially since they sang my better favored songs by mariah :p
i'm especially dedicating cook's video to my former abada housemate,
kaye ursolino...siya naalala ko agad eh haha!
and castro's all mine hehehe....

gone but will never be forgotten
i've always been mercurial when i'm PMSing (sorry TMI, guys!), i could be ecstatic now and just downright depressed in a few moments.
i woke up feeling alright, i felt light and raring to work or watch a movie or just do about anything i want to do. i'm planning out things, i'm preparing my sched for the next months and i'm just so excited with finally being able to go where i want to go this summer. i was alright.
then while browsing through the different threads in pex, i chanced upon this thread and browsed through. and i realized i shouldn't have most especially after reading this poem:
Funeral Blues
W.H Auden
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
I first heard of this in the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. I've somehow forgotten what the movie is all about but reading this poem once again just made me really, really sad. Because i happen to have used this in my journal years back when my dad passed away.
and i suddenly miss him so much.
and i remember it was his birthday last april 5 and i totally forgot about it.
i remember struggling too long for most of my college life blaming myself for being such a bad daughter. he was sick for a long, long time and i remember fleeing from reality for most of the time then. for i preferred immersing myself with activities in school and being with my friends rather than being by his side where he needed me most.
i practically grew up having him around. i used to sleep beside him as a kid. i used to wait for him after work for our daily walks till the sun sets. i used to wait up for him if only to report whoever kid fought with me that day no matter how trivial the fight was. i would already be crying even before i could tell him who and why i got hurt.
when he got sick, was in and out of the hospital, became bedridden for almost 10 years it was just my mom who took care of him. i went away for most of the time. i didn't want to see him sick and weak and unable to talk even. it broke my young heart seeing him just slowly slipping away.
when he passed away just right after my 18th birthday i was away from home. i wasn't able to go home that christmas break thus i wasn't even able to greet him that one last time.
a lot in me changed since then. i've always been so insecure. i've always felt so remorseful. and i never had any decent interest for any guy as i didn't really want to be close to anyone if only to see them leave once again.
it was only during my senior year, during my college retreat when i was finally processed by our spiritual director. all those years of blaming myself, of being sorry and regretful for not having been with him for a long time before he finally left was finally poured out. and i somehow made peace with him and myself.
but i still have these bouts once in a while.
there is always this fear of being left behind.
but i have learned to just appreciate, make the most of what i got and just be grateful for any wonderful relationships that come my way.
which reminds me of one other song which i find really beautiful but sad too. i'm just really hoping and praying that i won't ever have the need for these type of songs anymore:
Deep Inside of You
Third Eye Blind
When we met, light was shed
Thoughts free flow
You said you've got something
Deep inside of you
A wind chime voice sound
Sway of your hips round rings true
It goes deep inside of you
These secret garden beams
Changed my life, so it seems
A fall breeze blows outside
I don't break stride, my thoughts are warm
And they go deep inside of you
Oh yeah
And I never felt alone, alright
Oh oh, till I met you
Friends say I've changed
I don't listen 'cuz I live to be
Deep inside of you
Slide of her dress
Shouts in darkness, I'm so alive
I'm deep inside of you
You said, "boy make girl feel good"
But still, deep inside
Still
I've never felt alone
Till I met you
I'm alright on my own
And then I met you
And I'd know what to do
If I just knew what's coming
I would change myself if I could
I'd walk with my people if I could find them
And I'd say that I'm sorry to you
I'm sorry to you
And I don't want to call you
But then I want to call you
'Cuz I don't want to crush you
But I feel like crushing you, and it's true
I took for granted you were with me
I breathe by your looks and you look right through me
But we were broke and didn't know
We were broke and didn't know
We were broke and didn't know
We were broke and didn't know
Something's gone, you withdraw
And I'm not strong like before
I was deep inside of you
I can go nowhere
I burn candles and stare
At a ghost deep inside of you
And some great need in me
Starts to bleed
I've lost myself, there's nothing left
It's all gone
Deep inside of you
Deep inside of you
Deep inside of you

American Idol Fake-ry
For the love of Chris Cornell, watch it till the very end and bash all these AI judges for being so stupid and ignorant. Because yes, Chris Cornell already had this recorded in his Carry On album released sometime last year. GGRRR!

...because this soul needs nurturing too.
I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what it's like to be new
Because in my head there's a Greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far-off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
Where they're far more suited than here
I cannot guess what we'll discover
When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's
And not one speck will remain
I do believe it's true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So, brown eyes, I'll hold you near
Because you're the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
And I do believe it's true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So, brown eyes, I'll hold you near
Because you're the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Aoi Haru (Blue Spring)
managed to catch a couple of films at the Japanese Film Fest held at the UP Film Institute and was drawn by this movie...
quite violent but rather poignant and sweet.
i could watch this scene over and over again and still get goosebumps.

can't take my eyes off you...
i must be having my own post valentine blues...
i was about to sleep last night when i heard blower's daughter by damien rice playing on the radio. i stood up, turned up the volume and just listened to it in the darkness. some songs just do that to me. i sit transfixed as i drink up the melodies and the lyrics.
i've watched closer where this movie came from and i could still recall alice's (natalie portman) mystique smile. but then again, i get vivid images of some young man spurned.
ahh, such a haunting song about unrequitted love....
but then again the girl said:
Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?
so maybe there's still hope huh???
(oh, indulge me please!!!:D )

currently replaying...
kinda craving for great expectations once again but i didn't have my cd with me, darn. thank god for you tube though. was able to find some clips which kinda fed my longing. yeah, i've watched this movie for the nth time and i just love it everytime the scenes are played over and over again as if i'm seeing it for the first time. and boy, i've even memorized some lines hehe...
the soundtrack is good too. ethan hawke, my all time hunk acts, though i don't really like gwyneth, she's but gorgeous in here, i love the story, robert de niro, the late great ms. anne bancroft, the production, the location, the support cast, everything, and notice that all their clothes are in different shades of green. ;)
sigh...
any movie you'd also love watching over and over again?
walk this earth alone
lauren christie
You're in the doors that keep revolving
The sirens that keep screaming
You're in the flashing of the headlights
The things that I'm believing
You're in the water that I'm drinking
the sound of 911
The walls that protect me
From the damage that you've done
In this world you are with me
But I walk this earth alone
But all I've eve known
Is you are right beside me
If I love you for a day
You'll blow my life away
Could I leave you behind me
You're in the crashing of the windows
The angels 'round the ceiling
You're in the fire in my belly
The fucked up way I'm feeling
You're in the warning on the label
The pills that dissapear
The whines as I'm talking
The words you'll never hear
In this world you are with me
But I walk this earth alone
But all I've eve known
Is you are right beside me
If I love you for a day
You'll blow my life away
